My Mindsets

Inclusive

An inclusive mindset has been essential in my ability to build relationships, foster collaboration, and drive results. In sales, success depends on understanding different perspectives, aligning goals, and ensuring that every stakeholder feels valued. Whether working with clients, negotiating partnerships, or leading teams, I prioritize inclusivity to create positive business outcomes.

As Vice President Internal of Beta Tau Omega, I led B2B sponsorship outreach, securing a partnership with Poké Stop that increased fundraising revenue by 40%. Early discussions revealed differing expectations, so I facilitated open conversations where all stakeholders could share their concerns. By incorporating their input, I negotiated a mutually beneficial profit-sharing agreement, resulting in $1,500 in event sales and over 100 attendees. This experience reinforced the power of collaboration in building lasting business relationships.

In my role as Event Student Assistant for The Association of Former Students, I coordinated Aggie Ring Day, a major event with over 20,000 attendees. I noticed that some team members felt overlooked in planning, leading to miscommunication. I took the initiative to bring all key stakeholders together, ensuring a smoother, more efficient process. As a result, we improved event operations and increased alumni watch party attendance by 50%.

While leading a 30-member team as Vice President External of Beta Tau Omega, I organized fundraising events that raised $2,500 for the Gastric Cancer Foundation. Early on, conflicting opinions slowed progress, so I encouraged idea-sharing and structured a plan that unified the team. This approach helped us attract over 150 attendees and establish long-term partnerships with other organizations.

By fostering open communication, resolving conflicts, and creating an environment where every voice is valued, I have helped teams and organizations achieve their goals. As I pursue a career in sales, I plan to apply this mindset to connect with diverse clients, build strong relationships, and develop solutions that drive business success.

Entrepreneur

Kobe Bryant’s “Mamba Mentality” is built on continuous learning, adaptability, and a relentless drive for improvement, the key traits of an entrepreneurial mindset. In sales, success depends on persistence, problem-solving, and the ability to refine strategies to meet client needs. I have applied this mindset in both leadership roles and professional experiences, always seeking solutions, taking initiative, and driving results.

As a Summer Intern at Choice Career Fairs, I was tasked with managing social media engagement and employer outreach. Initially, engagement on our promotional ads was lower than expected. Rather than accept the status quo, I analyzed audience trends, tested different content strategies, and optimized ad placements, which ultimately increased engagement by 20%. Additionally, securing new corporate partners was a challenge, as many companies hesitated to commit to career fairs. To overcome this, I researched target industries, tailored outreach messaging, and refined our pitch, successfully securing five new corporate partners for upcoming events. These experiences reinforced my ability to adapt strategies, refine messaging, and drive business growth, which are critical skills in sales.

Similarly, as Vice President External of Beta Tau Omega, I led a 30-member team in organizing fundraising events, raising $2,500 for the Gastric Cancer Foundation. Coordinating multiple organizations presented logistical and communication challenges. Instead of letting obstacles slow progress, I focused on collaborating with different teams, problem-solving, and finding ways to align everyone's goals, ultimately attracting over 150 attendees and creating long-term partnerships. I also developed and marketed a ticket sales strategy for a major event, which generated $2,000 in revenue. This experience strengthened my ability to strategically position offerings, communicate value effectively, and close deals, which are essential skills in sales and business development.

Beyond my professional roles, my personal experiences have reinforced this entrepreneurial mindset. Whether it was analyzing my habits to achieve a personal weight loss goal or adjusting my basketball techniques to compete at a higher level, I have always approached challenges with curiosity, adaptability, and a focus on improvement.

In sales, success comes from initiative, resilience, and a willingness to learn from every experience. I am committed to applying this mindset to understand client needs, refine sales strategies, and drive measurable results.
